Abstract

This Master’s Thesis proposes the development of a web platform to automate software deployment and validation for the company Fivecomm, facilitating agile fault detection. The solution offers a simplified interface for provisioning LXC containers in Proxmox, integrating with the GitHub API for repository selection and customization, and orchestrating the entire deployment process using Ansible.

To ensure system reliability, the validation strategy is structured into three levels. At the infrastructure level, the status of base resources is monitored in real-time via WebSockets, combining SSH commands with the Proxmox and Docker APIs. At the network level, native Docker Compose healthchecks are used to visually represent the dependency tree between services. Finally, at the application level, automated tests are integrated to navigate the user interface and verify its proper functioning, alongside a log viewer to identify errors generated in clients’ browsers when using Fivecomm’s web platform.

The development of this work will provide the company with a centralized tool that will allow it to detect potential service failures, monitor available resources, and significantly streamline the lifecycle of new deployments.
