Abstract

This Bachelor’s Thesis presents the design, implementation and validation of a hybrid terrestrial–satellite communication system aimed at improving connectivity resilience in rural environments. The proposed solution combines a LoRa mesh network, capable of autonomous and distributed operation, with a satellite link acting as a gateway to external networks. Additionally, an IoT integration layer has been developed, based on an automated alert distribution system using Telegram, enabling the management and dissemination of critical information. The system has been deployed in a real environment, specifically in the municipality of Villafranca del Cid. The results confirm its validity as a low-cost solution for emergency scenarios and rural environments.
